SEG is a leading Engineering and Construction firm specializing in Design-Build, government construction projects. With a track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, we are committed to excellence and innovation in every aspect of our work. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Business Development Manager with Government Construction work experience to join our team and play a pivotal role in the success of our forecasted company growth.

 

As a Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive growth and expansion opportunities for SEG. Your role will involve a combination of strategic planning, client relationship management, and market analysis within the construction industry. Here’s a breakdown of key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategic business development plans aligned with the company's objectives and growth targets. This may include identifying new market opportunities, expanding service offerings, or targeting specific client sectors.


  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key clients, contractors, developers, architects, and other stakeholders in the construction industry. This involves understanding their needs, building trust, and identifying opportunities for collaboration or project partnerships.


  • Market Research and Analysis: Conducting market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities in the construction sector. This information helps in making informed decisions about market entry, expansion strategies, and service enhancements.

  • Proposal Development: Leading the preparation and submission of proposals for new projects or contracts. This includes coordinating with internal teams to gather required information, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and presenting compelling proposals that highlight the company’s strengths and capabilities.


  • Networking and Business Development: Actively networking in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the company’s services, establish new contacts, and explore potential business leads. This also involves participating in industry associations or chambers of commerce to enhance visibility and reputation.


  • Collaboration with Operations: Working closely with project managers, estimators, and other operational teams to ensure seamless execution of projects won through business development efforts. This collaboration ensures alignment between business development strategies and operational capabilities.


  • Continuous Improvement: Monitoring industry trends, client feedback, and market dynamics to continuously refine business development strategies and improve the company’s competitive position in the construction market.



Overall, as a Construction Business Development Officer, your role is pivotal in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and fostering sustainable relationships within the construction industry. Your expertise in strategic planning, client engagement, and market analysis contributes to the long-term success and profitability of SEG.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of complex business development experience with state and/or federal government agencies.

  • A proven track record building an internal and external partnership leading to winning profitable pipeline of work.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary, along with an ability to be self-directed.

  • Demonstrated experience communicating broad strategic initiatives to both key stakeholders and diverse internal teams.

  • Tenacity and curiosity of an entrepreneur

  • Proven ability to collaborate and prioritize for results

  • Ability to obtain and hold Government Security Access

  • Clear driving record
